I
have long believed that what is good for the environment is good
for our health. Health is not merely the absence of disease or pain,
but a state of mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and social
well-being. Toward this end, my practice is not simply health-oriented,
but rather life-style oriented. In my personal life, I practice
and encourage this belief through exercise; healthy eating; community
involvement; teaching my children to respect, learn from, and live
closely with nature; and conscious living through sustainable environmental
means.

art of mothering is to teach the art of living to children.”

The
National College of Naturopathic Medicine is accredited by the Council
on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME). The U.S. Secretary of
Education recognizes CNME as the national accrediting agency for
programs leading to the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D. or
N.M.D.) or Doctor of Naturopathy (N.D.) degree.
Their offices are located at 3535 Peachtree Rd, Suite 520-209, Atlanta,
GA 30326-3287.

A Licensed naturopathic physician (N.D.) attends a four-year graduate
level naturopathic medical school and is educated in all of the
same basic sciences as an M.D., but also studies holistic and nontoxic
approaches to therapy with a strong emphasis on disease prevention
and optimizing wellness. In addition to a standard medical curriculum,
the naturopathic physician is required to complete four years of
training in clinical nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine,
botanical medicine, psychology, and counseling (to encourage people
to make lifestyle changes in support of their personal health).
A naturopathic physician takes rigorous professional board exams
so that he or she may be licensed by a state or jurisdiction as
a primary care general practice physician. Additional information
on naturopathic schools can be found at http://www.aanmc.org/.
